Hello Seashel followers! It’s been a little over a year since I wrote on here! I took a much needed break but I am back because I have missed y’all!
First I wanted to say how much fun I had this past weekend! It’s been a little over a year now since I worked an expo so it felt really great to be back. Over the weekend I got to reunite with some of the team and meet new teammates and had fun doing so. While I was in L.A. I wanted to also try something new while I was there. Usually when I work events I don’t take advantage of the fact that I am visiting a new city. I had the intentions of doing a lot but was also really tired from being on my feet all day so I did very little ….but hey better than nothing right?!?
Friday:Every time I travel I always stock up with new magazines especially all my favorite fitness magazines so one of the magazines I picked up was SELF magazine. I couldn’t get over Emmy Rossum’s beauty on the cover so I snatched it and wanted to read all about her health and fitness routine. One of the things that caught my attention was that she does Soul Cycle. I have heard other celebrities like Kelly Ripa, Katie Holmes, and Ashley Tisdale do this type of spin class. So I decided hey why not give it a try I have done spin before.. I got this! After all it’s something new to try, plus it’s probably a good little cardio workout. It started at 8pm and I landed at 5:30 so I thought it was perfect timing. Being that it was L.A. and there is a lot of traffic I left at 7 but still got there 5 minutes late and it was only 15 miles away! That’s cray! As I walked in the room I thought I would be embarrassed walking in late but it was dark and nobody cared. Everyone was in their own little world. Lights were off, candles were lit, and music was blasting! Everyone was head banging including the guys. Everyone was screaming “ yeah” ‘whoo” and I immediately loved the atmosphere. It was like this cardio sanctuary full of positive energy where nothing in the world mattered … these people were just in the zone. So I hopped on my bike and slowly and awkwardly started to head bang. If only there were a camera, I looked so funny! Ha Ha these people seemed so advanced they were jumping off the saddle, getting back down, clapping, and also head banging. I finally got into it and the moment I did I just let loose. I was sweating profusely! We then got our weights from the back of the bike. When I saw that it was 1 pound I thought “ you gotta be kidding me” but we did so much work with it slow and controlled all why slowly spinning on a high resistance and my arms were on fire!! I am not going to lie I wanted to give up for a second but the instructor was so motivating and loud there was no way I could stop. By the time I finished I was nauseous but then 10 minutes later I was starving! Thank goodness I had my MRM protein powder and my cute pink Smartshake, I chugged it. I knew it would be a while until I got back to my hotel so I had something to hold me over. I had to get up the next day for the La Fit Expo so when I got to my room I hurried and showered and slept like a little baby.

Saturday: Day 1 at the expo was crazy! The line for our booth was ridiculously long it was a 2 1/2 hour wait! This is the busiest I have seen it out of all the years that I have worked the expo. There were so many people that we ran out of product. This day I got to meet some of the girls and guys competing for the Bodyspace spokesmodel search. All of them looked amazing and presented so well on stage! Also since I haven’t worked in a year I haven’t met some of our newer team athletes so it was nice to finally meet them when I only know them via social media. Later that day I made a pit stop at Whole Foods Market with my teammate Mary and picked up dinner and wheatgrass shots. It was her first time having wheatgrass so I made sure she had a chaser lol. Now if some of you don’t know ,wheatgrass has so many wonderful benefits, just one ounce of it is equivalent to 2 pounds of garden vegetables. When I don’t get it at Whole Foods Market, I usually drink Amazing Grass Green Superfood. It also has wheatgrass and other great ingredients such as spirulina. My husband also loves putting Chia seed in it too to get some gelatinous fibers in his diet.

Sunday: Day 2 at the Expo was fun as well! We ran out of products way too fast though. Because of that, some of us on the team got the chance to walk around and take a bunch of photos with other supplement companies that we love and talk to old friends from the industry. The day was shorter but my feet were hurting pretty bad! It’s been a while since I was on my feet all day since I sit on my ass all day at work haha.
All in all I had such a great time. It was nice to reunite with old friends that I haven’t seen since I competed which was the 2011 Bikini Olympia. I was really nervous because I am definitely not in my “competition shape” I got a little junk in the trunk and sometimes you feel a lot of pressure to be super lean especially being in this fitness industry. Well I have to do go to work so I gotta go for now he he!
p.s For all the clothing that my teammates and I were wearing at the expo you can find it on the Bodybuilding.com site. It is the new B-Elite Clothing line :
