Hater – A person that simply cannot be happy for another person’s success. So rather than be happy they make a point of exposing a flaw in that person.

Hating, the result of being a hater, is not exactly jealousy. The hater doesnt really want to be the person he or she hates, rather the hater wants to knock somelse down a notch.

Susan: You know, Kevin from accounting is doing very well. He just bought a house in a very nice part of town.

Jane (hater): If he is doing so well why does he drive that ’89 Taurus?

I thought this was funny I got it from the Urban Dictionary! The first time I got a taste of serious Haters was after my first competition. After my first show, I posted all my pictures from the weekend and I will not ever forget that weekend it was very memorable. I took home 2nd in my class and was really proud of myself for transforming my body. I had never gone through something like that in my life and I never knew my body could look like that! I was welcomed with applauds from family, friends, and fans but like most things in life where theres light, theres darkness.

During this happy and memorable time of my life I also experienced a life lesson; the world isn’t all sunshine and rainbows.

As I talked to a friend about competing in my first show and accomplishing my goal of transforming my physique, she, after much hesitation dropped the bomb. It turns out that “Haters” had stolen my photos from my social media profile and posted it on a website along with some very hurtful comments. I went from feeling on top of the world to feeling down in the dumps. I couldn’t believe people could be so cruel and waste their energy to post such nonsense.I felt like I was in high school and the “Mean Girls” were picking on me with their “Burn Book”. Its one thing to not be a fan of somebody but its a completely different thing to do the opposite and go out of their way to post such nasty stuff. For the first time in a long time even the gym was unable to cheer me up. The place I had grown so confident in, the place that was my home away from home, started to become the place that created the person that others wanted to make fun of.

Was I at fault? Were the things these people said true?

After a few days of feeling down on myself and asking myself these questions. The real Seashel emerged… I started to realize what was more important in my life. I also started to realize how wonderful my life is. I am healthy, I have a family that loves me, friends that care about me , and the sky is the limit. You see, when you aren’t doing anything people will leave you alone but then your bored. Honestly when you are really effective of what you do, most of the time your going to get hated on. Once your on track and have built up momentum you feel unstoppable. The moment you try to fight back you will lose focus because your focus has shifted to them(haters). When these things happen it is important to block them out and just use “Tunnel Vision Towards Your Mission”. This means whatever people say no matter how mean or hurtful it is you need to block it out and stay focused! Success is the best revenge and they only look dumb when you prove them wrong. Use that energy as fuel for your next lift session or for your fat blasting cardio session. The next time those people hate they will just look even more insecure than what they already are.
